Registered agent requirements in Montana
Montana pulled its registered agent rules out of the individual entity acts and gave them a chapter of their own: the Model Registered Agents Act, codified at MCA Title 35, chapter 7. Under Mont. Code Ann. § 35-7-105, every represented entity - corporation, LLC, limited partnership, or otherwise - must appoint a registered agent, either a commercial registered agent already listed with the Secretary of State under § 35-7-106 or a noncommercial agent identified by name and Montana street address.
